Cygwin

Basic Install

1. Use RSYNC to get all of Cygwin onto the local machine.
2. Run Cygwin's setup.exe
3. Select the packages you want.

The remainder of this document assumes you're in a bash shell (not DOS/Windows) /etc/passwd and /etc/group

1. mkpasswd -l -d > /etc/passwd

2. mkgroup -l -d > /etc/group

configure cygserver

1. cygserver-config
2. set CYGWIN=server in WINDOWS environment variables
3. Reboot. Check to see that cygserver service is running.
